Short for “Quantum Picks and Shovels,” Q.P.S. aimed to do what some frugal miners cleverly pivoted to during the gold rush: sell picks and shovels to other prospectors panning for those nuggets. The principles are the same here, only this gold rush is in the quantum computing space.
